How Busy Minds Can Achieve Focus During the Holidays and Beyond
I don’t know about you, but my mind is always full with no space to spare. New ideas, things to do, issues to sort out, worries, projects to plan, people to call, schedules to meet – stop already! Can you relate? Is your mind full, or maybe even over-full all the time? And how does that feel and what does it do to you for you?
Wouldn’t it be nice to open some space in your mind for mindfulness? Oddly enough, being mindful and having a full mind sound the same but are totally different.
Mindfulness is being at peace using attention and focus, while having a full mind is just the opposite. These are the words that come to mind when I think of mindfulness – and the benefits!
M – meditative
I – in the present
N – non-judgemental
D – deliberate
F – focused
U – unlimited potential
L – life affirming
N – noticing
E – enlightened
S – stillness
S – soulful
If there was a drug that gave you these benefits, wouldn’t you line up to get it? The good news is you have it already! All you need to do is exercise “present moment thinking” and in time it will become a healthy practice for you. It will become a habit with so many benefits you won’t want to stop. And then you will discover being mindful will un-fill your crowded mind and bring you the focus you have been searching for.
Here’s a 5 minute mindful practice video to get you started.
Very relaxing. Try it – you might like it!
